Out of curiosity what do you all think of these skis? I haven't skied them enough to really tell, but I wonder if they are actually too light for a lot of winter/early spring conditions? I imagine they're actually fine in corn conditions (haven't had 'em out in corn yet). I do wish they made a larger size.

Corey - I use them for summer skiing only... For example I haven't had them out yet this summer and have skied just about every weekend except this last. The snowpack seems to be firming up pretty well now; will probably let them out this Sunday to play :) I like them pretty well for the summer low ski pen conditions... light for the uphill (good for the geezerly types, not that I know anyone like that ::)) and  they ski the corn pretty well.

Ski Trab sells some skins to fit, but reviews of the attachment system are so-so.

Where are these so-so reviews?
I use the Trab attachments. Granted, removing the skins w/o first swiveling the little tip part does risk breaking the tip attachment, by swiveling it out to the side is hardly a burdensome operation. And when affixed the tip system is super secure and sleek.
The rivet on the tail attachment though does cause it to protrude a bit.

The Trab tail attachments actually work well. Even though I couldn't turn the "latch" on the first generation one because the tail of the ski was too thick, you could just hook it in the slot and stretch the skin out. You wouldn't be able to use a BD tip loop, though.

Hard to say where you can get just the tail attachments, with the distribution of Trab being taken over by Scarpa this year.

I prefer the rando racer style.
Ripping at the tip is easier for me and do a similar setup as to below.

Lots of interesting ideas here but I don't see any improvements over the Trab system. I use the trab skin attachments by BD skins and I like them. I cut my own, pounded the rivets closed with a hammer, and it worked out fine. Easy on and off and very solid attachment. I never swivel the tip attachment, it just slips in and out of the tip slot. You want to close the tail attachment so it points towards the end of the ski. Much easier to open with gloves on or ripping without removing your skis.

I never swivel the tip attachment, it just slips in and out of the tip slot.

Be careful there. Slips in, yes. And slips, out, yes, for many hundreds of thousands of vertical, until one transition I was a little rough and leveraged it too much, breaking the attachment.
