Never used JB Kwik before.
I always thought quicker curing epoxys were more brittle and lacked the long lasting qualities of the longer curing versions. I'll be interested in hearing how it holds up.

I wonder how well some of this stuff bonds plastics/rubbers. I'd put money on Art's 5200 though -- we used that for just about everything at my school's marina/shop, as long as you didn't want to be able to remove it, ever, without destroying what you attached.

The shoe guru told me to use seam sealer(usually for tents etc) on my mountaineering boots where the rand was peeing from the toe piece. It worked great. I have also made repairs on my rock shoes that have lasted a looong time.
I like it better than shoe goo for sure.

Yeah, my choices last night were the JB-branded Kwik or the off-brand Permatex JB emulator. That, along with the fact that it was Thursday night led me to try the faster stuff. Should be mostly skinning this weekend or locked in crampons, so it should work in the near-term...

My usual experience with 5-minute epoxies is that they're more pliable than the long-cure stuff; the JB-weld "cures like engine block" made me worry that it would be too stiff for the surrounding rubber?

Another vote for Barge Cement--I've resoled rock shoes many times with it. It's tough and flexible.
