For what it's worth, there was actually a major outage affecting NWS systems on April 14, which was not fully fixed until 1-2 days later: see the screen capture from April 14 below. Primarily the point forecasts were down / outdated, but those are fairly useless for mountain locations in my experience anyway (predicted winds and precipitation are often far from reality, which makes them impossible to rely on).

All of the text-based forecasts (like ZFP , AFD , REC , etc.) from all offices that I happened to look at in the western region appeared to be unaffected throughout the outage. These links to the text-based products are more useful than the ones posted by Erik Henne or snomet above, since they offer access to the last 10 versions of each forecast product.

I'm a little confused, Amar; I don't see much difference in the links, esp REC; did the earlier posts change?

One product I really like is the graphical forecast (text with graphics added):
illustrated forecast discussion

Ahhh ... never mind, I figured out; it is a difference in which office the fcst is coming from + the ability to look at earlier fcsts.
