Euro skier falls off mountain and survives

Most of you have probably seen this but for those who have not it is pretty remarkable that he not only survived but stood up after his fall to view the cliff bands he successfully bounced over.

The first time I saw the video it reminded me of a  spring tour while kicking out a platform near a knife edge, putting on a ski then slowly sliding backwards. Luckily, the flat tails of my skis dug in and stopped the backward slide.  :

It's a great commercial for the GoPro however.... And also for Marker bindings. Maybe not so much for K2 skis (really it looks more like him not noticing his tails weren't touching, do those skis have tail rocker?).

Nope, no tail rocker, but looks like his tail got rocker'd.

Amazing his skiis didn't even come off.

When my brother Carl fell in Argentina his Dynafit bindings were locked and did not release. I have a picture taken by his partner of one of his skis sticking out of the snow (in the middle of the face) with a boot shell still in the binding. The shell apparently came unbuckled while he was tumbling and was pulled off the liner. Carl did not survive.

Glad the skier in the video is all right. Scary.
