When I first watched this, I kept cringing thinking I was going to watch one of them stumble off the summit while high-fiving. Then I relaxed when they started putting on their skis - only to gasp and wince when it actually happened. Ouch!

I wonder what his GPS said his top speed was :) That is one very fast way to the bottom, ouch! And just think, he was probably on the wrong side of the mountain after that.... even worse.

When my brother Carl fell in Argentina his Dynafit bindings were locked and did not release. I have a picture taken by his partner of one of his skis sticking out of the snow (in the middle of the face) with a boot shell still in the binding. The shell apparently came unbuckled while he was tumbling and was pulled off the liner. Carl did not survive.

Glad the skier in the video is all right. Scary.

This thread reminded me of Carl, too, Lowell. I still think of him a lot. Carl was a very fun guy to share adventures with.

does anyone else question their apparent route and placement on the summit in the first place? seems pretty precarious....
