I imagine that a number of people on this forum have skied this route, is there anyone who has done it with their GPS running in "tracking" mode who would be willing to send me their coordinate file??

Also, we had amazing vis on our trip last year and got a ton of pictures. As well as pictures of mountains, there are photos of our maps. Note that these photos have GPS data encoded in them, so you might be able to get some key waypoints from these as well

We will (hopefully) be mid-way through the route on April 3, but thanks for the reply.I have a gps track of the route you are doing with coordinates as well. Did it last April. I am in Europe at the moment and won't be back in Seattle until 4/3. Will you have left by then?
Thanks for the links, your annotated maps are amazing!! How did you generate them?Found this track from Verbier to Zermatt online. This looks like it starts below the Mon Fort hut, but everything else matches what I did in my 2010 trip.

1) The pictures of the maps. These were the maps that our guide from Pro Guide Service (Margaret Wheeler) had on the trip. I think a friend made those for her. No ideas on how they were produced
2) The maps in my picture stream. I have a Panasonic Lumix ZS7 P&S camera that I bought for the trip since it has GPS built in. My picture server software (Gallery) has a cool option to map the pictures on a google map in the sidebar. Most of the data in those is correct, but the times might be off.
One other suggestion/idea. Since we were on a guided trip, I didn't bring my own GPS. After the trip, I googled around until I found some free Garmin compatible maps online. Don't remember where exactly, but they are out there and ready to go I believe. This might save you a few Euros or Francs that can be better spent on Cardinal beer and rosti at the huts.
Have a great tour. It really is an awesome experience.
