*Bump*
Anybody have more advice than what's already been given? Getting close to making a couple purchases, and I'm looking at getting one of the Marker bindings and mounting them on my Lib Tech NAS Freerdie 178's. I'm not super concerned about weight as I'll be doing lighter touring to begin with, and I figure the excercise will be good for this young buck. Right now, I'm going with this setup because I want to have something I can ski in and out of bounds, as well as light to medium touring. I had looked at the Fritschi's but due to the fact that I would be skiing this setup in bounds also and I generally ski pretty hard, I'm worried about the prospect of them breaking. Any final advice before I make a purchase would be awesome.
Thanks!

imho: ounces make pounds.
I have always had a cheap pair of touring skis. silverettas are great on the up-hill and cheap. you'd be surprised what you can ski in them. you can get diamars skis and skins for the price of markers.
so I would go for two pairs of skis. but thats because I love to ski-mountaineer.
currently I have 183 ros. sickbirds on fritschi, 182 moment freebirds on dynafit, and silveretta 500s on k2
backlite.
theres lots of used binders and boots for sale that are in excellent shape cheap! I just sold almost new g-rides for 100 bucks, and pretty much donated my spirit 4's. the markets flooded so I say go that way
I just think a nice lite (cheap setup) for corn tours is great. just be careful if you are a strong skier and use your big downhills when you are doing hard stuff. imho.
on the markers, my friends love them for sidecountry but not for touring.
granted, this is all personal opinion

I learned the exp$en$ive way that whatever is good for everything is great for nothing.
If you already have an inbounds setup, get touring-specific gear. I regret not sucking it up and getting dynafits right off the bat. You won't ski as hard touring as you do riding the lifts - most days you just can't approach the vert and in my experience after climbing your leg fatigue will make you back off hitting it hard on a sustained basis. Look at the gear that someone such as Skykilo uses - it's lightweight touring gear and his descents would make most people cry like little girls. That said, I did just rip my bindings off my skis last week, but I think that's anomalous for the most part.
