Wow, you must be really old since there's no longer any train to Wallingford or Ballard.... That's impressive. What was it like?

Why yes, I've taken my bicycle on the comuter train to all those places.

Capitol Hill is full of people who insert snarky oneliners into every conversation I try to have at Victrola. Portland is much more sinister.

I thought I recognized her! Many folks would probably hate Sleater Kinney's music, but I like it and have 2 of their discs. Obviously they spent time in Olympia too.One of the creators(Carrie Brownstein) was in this band-

Sleater-Kinney is pretty cool. Speaking of sinister vibes, Olympia, whereabouts there is a Sleater-Kinney road, has them in spades. Maybe that explains the Sleater-Kinnery -> Portland connection.
I'm still not sure how Capitol Hill figures in to all this, except that I'm sure the snark factor in Portland is much higher than the snark factor in Capitol Hill despite similar hipster populations.
This is a bit like thinking about sharks when you're not by the ocean. Speaking of which, I had a fantastic trip to Moclips on January 2nd. There is something sinister about the shanty towns one finds nestled along the highway.
