If you tgive the snowshoe route a try, Another trick for hauling your board instead of carrying in on your back is to tow it using a length of rope. Some of the older K2 snowboards had a hole drilled in one end for hauling -- but you could drill one yourself -- at least a 3/8 - 1/2 inch hole about 1 inch from the tip. Seal with epoxy or just drip extra wax into it seal out water.
Hauling works well in open terrain -- say Mt Hyak or Camp Muir -- less well in tight trees.

I tried towing my skis up Suksdorf Ridge on mount Adams once years ago. It was kinda nice not having the extra weight on my pack. I think the only reason I didn't continue the practice in open, alpine terrain is that the tow weight on my pack seemed to disrupt the timing of my rest-stepping. (Old people need to rest step and pressure breathe to get up mountains
)
