Jet sighting from Jove

Forgot to mention in my 2010/12/30 TR. When we were at the Jove summit, we saw this crazy jet-fighter flying below us through Union gap and Rainy Pass away over the Rainy Creek.

See it in the pics. The clearing is just east of Rainy Pass. No idea what they were doing, a practice or a fun ride???

They do a lot of low mountain flying practice over the Cascades. I've heard it's from the Whidbey base. I have to think any such run is a "fun ride," but I'm sure it's all paid for in order that the pilots get practice. I've seen this multiple times in the mid-north Cascades. Kinda cool, but startlingly noisy.

The air craft is clearly NOT in the wilderness. He is following smithbrook rd. to lake wenathcee.

Tried to get up and see your tracks on Jove from a good vantage point yesterday but never made it.

I think they must have been gliding with their engines idling taking scenic silent moving pictures ...
