Skinning can get pretty boring.  Some people like skinning above exposure to make things a little more interesting the same way that some people like skiing above exposure.  Other people don't know what they're doing.

Seeing lots of adult social groups from relations to church groups going bc and most seem to think the best way up is straight up a gully or couloir.


Yes, it's definitely all of those pesky church groups that are skinning up Kyle's windloaded couloir lol.

Luckily there's no requirement that you or I follow said skintracks.


Exactly.

Same goes for spacing. A week or two ago, I watched a group of ~7 put in the day's skintrack in Silver Basin, all crowding the leader. We dawdled until they'd cleared the slope to begin our ascent.

I don't get it.  Why not just thank them for breaking trail for you while you dawdled instead of complaining about their spacing on the internet.  Or better yet, since there were already seven people ahead of you, break you're own trail up one of the many other slopes back there and have your own adventure.
