MARMOT MOUNTAIN WORKS in Bellevue presents a free slideshow on Wednesday November 3rd 2010 at 7:30pm:

EXPLORING & SKIING IN THE BAJANG REGION OF FAR WESTERN NEPAL

Dynafit sponsored athlete Jamie Laidlaw will show images from climbing and skiing in a mountain range that has rarely been visited by outsiders.  It is an amazing adventure with a look at the unspoiled cultures of remote Western Nepal.

Jamie has a passion for exploring the mountainous regions of the earth.  He has had first ski descents in Alaska, the Peruvian Andes, the Norwegian Arctic, and became the first and only person to ski a portion of the Lhotse Couloir.  Presently, he is a lead guide for Ruby Mt. Heli Ski in Northeastern Nevada.

Come to Marmot Mountain Works and help kick off the ski season, and get psyched to go backcountry skiing!

We have had a number of people asking about the Avalanche Classes.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the owner of Ridge Explorations, Don Langlois, will be available at the store in the evening for this event to answer questions regarding Avalanche Safety classes as well as any other related questions that folks might have.

Please RSVP for the Happy Hour and slideshow if you have not already, so that we know how many beverages to have available as well as how many chairs that we will need for the show.

There have been a few people calling and asking about what time the Dynafit Representatives will be on hand at the store in person to answer questions.

They should be at the store around 4pm or so today. So come on by any time after that with whatever questions that you might have for them.

Yeah. Tried to attend but doors were locked. Showed up at 6:30pm and again at 7pm. Doors locked both times. Saw people sitting in the boot area but couldn't get in. Too bad. I was looking foward to speaking with the reps since I use their boots, bindings, skis.

Looks like you must have shown up one day early. The event is tonight, Wednesday 11/3/10! Sorry about that.

Thanks to the Marmot team.  It was a great presentation by Jamie which highlighted the reality of any mountain adventure.  The food and beverages were ideal.
