thanks all, that is a load off of my mind. The great thing about this site is everyone who is on it. You can't believe how stoked I am to pick up my skis with these bindings and feel how light the weight is compared to years of skiing with freerides. Thanks again.

I freaked too when I did my first mount.

Thanks for that photo, it shows quite clearly how much higher above the ski the binding makes the heel of the boot than the toe. How many of the readers of this post put a shim under the binding toe piece to level out the stance? That picture is kind of cluttered. Here's a Dynafit boot clicked into brakeless Comforts circa right now.

If ramp angle discussions are imminent, someone will inevitably state that they vary from binding model to binding model. I don't have a pair of Verticals, but here's the same photo of a pair of Speeds (note same lumpy floor/floor induced camera tilt). Doing this right would require photos taken from farther away in order to limit the distortion of the wide angle lens...

When brakes are installed, they fill that gap, putting less stress on the pins and create more lateral release friction. I still have my skis mounted with and without brakes. I have never had a problem with pin breakage or pre-release. Toe pre-release on the other hand... operator error!

I welcome Dynafits ramp angle. When I first switched to Fritschis from Alpine gear,(circa 1997 I still remember!) I though it was weird how "flat" they were.
