Dynafits on skis was created by filbo
Just had a pair of dynafit vertical bindings mounted on my skis at a shop that is new to bc gear and as I have never used a pair of these bindings before when my boot is set in the toe and then the heel is locked in the rear binding there is a space of an inch or so between the heel of the boot and the surface of the ski.
The bindings are mounted without brakes and the shop said that this is how they are as they talked to their rep since all the dynafits they sell and mount have the brakes.
If any one has experience with the dynafit set up is this the way they should be.

yes, without brakes installed, and with your boots clicked into the bindings in downhill mode, your boot soles will 'float' above the tops of your skis and be supported only by the toe and heel metal bits/pins....thats the case with all dynafits. don't worry.

I don't think anyone around here has any experience with the Dynafit setup.

There's lots of good Dynafit-related information here:
www.wildsnow.com/bindings/dynafit-backcountry-skiing-bindings/
This image addresses your question directly - the boot-heel sole is not in contact with any part of the ski/binding when clicked into downhill mode:

That picture is kind of cluttered. Here's a Dynafit boot clicked into brakeless Comforts circa right now.

thanks all, that is a load off of my mind. The great thing about this site is everyone who is on it. You can't believe how stoked I am to pick up my skis with these bindings and feel how light the weight is compared to years of skiing with freerides. Thanks again.
