I'm 6'2"  182lbs.   I'm looking at new (last years model) Waybacks for almost 1/2 price, and the longest available is 174cm.  Given my weight, I think I could go 174  or 181. If I'm in the trees and trying to maneuver in tight spaces, not to mention carrying skis on pack, 174 might be ok. New 181s would be  $300 more. Worth it for 7 extra cms?  Thoughts?

My thoughts are you are buying the wrong length ski and doubly wrong because the ski has rockered tip. At your size you should normally be skiing a 180-ish ski in a standard camber design. A rockered ski for you could be even longer. If you are very athletic, those skis will be too short very quickly. If you are going to inch down the slopes in a series of traverses like my grandmother, you probably won't know the difference. If you want gear that allow you room to grow your skills, you need the proper length ski. If you just want skis on your feet, then buy the shorties, if you expect them to perform when you push your limits, then you need to buy the proper ski for your size.

Evo is also a full service ski shop. They have a great staff and if you buy something from their online entity the brick and mortar entity will service it.

Listen to what you're hearing here. That ski is too short and skinny for you and what you want to do.

Another vote for too short for your build and the width of that ski, even though It's absolutely true that K2s run 4-5cm long to advertised length.

I am close to your size (6'3" 185) but an aggressive expert skier and on tele gear. I have skied a K2 anti piste 174 and which is similar and had fun but I would go 181 for my money. With the tip rocker the longer ski will just give you a more stable ride and be more fun/less work. I ski 185 G3 El hombres as my go to and generally like that length, even in tight trees.

My original plan was to get the Wayback 174 and ski like my grandmother, but I must say I'm now inspired to go with a little longer ski and have more room to grow in my abilities.

I may have found the solution in the Karhu Spire BC in 184cm. It's a very similar spec and even less expensive than the year-old Wayback I originally chose. Best of both worlds!

Thanks for all the helpful input.

That is a good price. I'm committed to purchase from Marmot MW. Already paid deposit and they have spent a lot of time helping me, so they deserve the business.

I like to support Marmot Mountain too. Also supported Backpackers Supply until they went out of business.
Although I was in Marmot checking out out the new line up of skis in the shop. Some pretty nice skis in there. The help in there is awesome, right there pleased to help. There was a pretty nice pair of skis the Volkl Nanuq. I like the flex and snap of those boards, narrow for Scotsman's liking. The help commented to me as I went through the ski pile, that they did not think there were any 177's in stock. I was thinking inside, Why would they recommend a 177 ski to a guy who is 6'4"? I was thinking that the 184 was too short for me.
I know some folks tour on skis that are a little on the short side. They said their recommendation is based on ability/Ht/wgt without a pack on. Still caught me a little off guard that they would focus on a ski that's way to short for me.
