randerson on an earlier post said:
"1) Gravity fed movement (that makes in a downhill sport). Note this is a gravity pulling you in toward the earth, Newton Apple kind of gravity. The moon's gravitation inducing waves, which technically you could ski (I think they call it surfing), is therefore OUT. "
I enjoyed Stugie's surfing posts, and thought that would be a worthy option, since man - do they earn their turns, especially in the winter.
I think gravity is definitely part of the equation with surfing - What else pulls you down the face of the wave? If you outlaw surfing because of the source of the "height" of the wave (wind and lunar influence) maybe we should outlaw skiing because plate tectonics are involved.

From the OP (What constitutes TAY in the personal streak tracking sense?), the topic has drifted to acceptable trip reports, which is a different question. I think I woudn't count a day surfing as part of a TAY streak discussed in the OP, but as a TR, it is good inspiration not to forget to go outside and have fun no matter what the season and location. Such TRs go in Random Tracks, I guess, and I hope they'll be welcome there forevar.
