I'm with Travertine and Ron on self-defining criteria for what "counts" as turns.
While I've counted sand dunes and southern hemisphere August powder skiing as "turns" in years past, my ski streak still includes at least 2 consecutive turns on snow each month somewhere in the Pacific NW (which exceeds my own minimum criteria as it doesn't specify skiing on snow).

And I can't wait for Ruffryder's TRs with tales of slaying the Blewitt bc..

Opened a whole new can o' worms there David.

Unless nobody has noticed the banner under the words Turns ALL Year Trip Reports on the opening banner of this section says.
Backcountry Skiing and Snowboarding. QED!

As usual the TAY constitution has been high jacked by extreme activist posters who have chosen to interpret the words of our founding father(s) and distort the meaning aided by milquetoast leadership, scared to lose popularity and reaffirm our values.
It's time to restore TAY to the "gleaming beacon on a hill "that it once was.
I will be burning a copy of Rainier Burgdofer's book "100 ski and snow-board tours in WA" on Saturday at the Camp Muir toilets on Saturday in protest unless all sand skiing, boot skiing and junkboarding posts are immediately removed.
Tea baggers for TAY unite.
This is Sarah Palin's evil work here! Just because her husband is a snowmobiler she's obviously got Marcus under her sway and trying to get snowmobile TR's on TAY.

OMG Scotsman.

Your posts = excellent.

I'll join your effort and burn a copy of Staying Alive In Avalanche Terrain. This redefinition of TAY by activist posters only serves to weaken our sport and corrupt its purity.

Next these twisted radicals will want to go skiing in groups, or they'll want to bring dogs and horses along. If skiing were meant to includes dogs or horses, then clearly someone would have invented skis for dogs and horses.

You cannot trust people who are pushing the 'boot turn agenda'. It is an abomination.

If Mack wants to send you frowny faces for your accounting method, that's his choice too I guess.

Hey, it was a ???, not a >:( or a :(. I was just curious.
Some good humor here, but I'll repeat others' view that "turns" are in the eye of the beholder.

That may not be such a bad idea, Scotty.
I actually liked Toby's Sled Stoke Viddy and was quite impressed with how the riders were making great downhill turns with the sleds. I have like a total of two whole days experience on a sled, and only one of them on varied terrain (i.e. off road) but I gotta say (and, hey, Toby or any of you other experienced sledders, correct me if I'm wrong, but)  it looked to me like those riders in that viddy had skills that would take as much practice to develop as the levels of skill that some of the more talented skiers on this forum (another group of which I am also excluded  ::)). I have never seen a sledder do anything but go straight down the fall line. Linking turns down a steep fall line on a sled without going over the handlebars seems like a very accomplished feat to me.

And What the Hey, turns is turns, right?
