Snow depth predictions for July 22 at Paradise?

Anyone have an educated guess as to whether the wildflowers will be peeking out by July 22 around Paradise? I'm taking a group of friends and family up there that day with the hope of a profusion of wildflowers. But it's looking like there's still alot of snow at Paradise.

If I read the telemetry right, though, the snow has melted down from 100" on Jun23 to 78" today. Can I extrapolate that out to zero before the 22nd?

Thanks!

Don,

Shame, shame!... Hoping that snow melts. What has become of you?

Hope your guests like glissading.

I keep a log of trail/snow conditions for every hike or ski tour, including an occasional tally of the snow depth at Paradise. That way I can correlate the amount of snow on a given trip with the amount of snow at Paradise. Based on those numbers and my experience on the Skyline trail (I prefer to call it the Panorama-zama traverse when skiing it.), I would expect some flowers but also wet feet. It is definitely a slow-meltout year so far. (Yay!)

Don, I met you on my first trip of the season in October. Hope to see you out there again soon (with skis!).

If the warming trend comes as predicted this next week it could put a dent in the snowpack, maybe you need to find some other southfacing exposed areas to visit to get a shot at the flowers.

I'd like to ski the Muir snowfield this weekend. Recent images on TAY look like one can still ski to/from the car. Does anyone have more recent information?

Cheers,
Alex

I skied yesterday.   I expect the rangers will start confronting people trying to ski from Pan Pt to the parking lot; snow coverage is quite patchy above the parking lot.  I suggest carrying skis.  We found coverage to be very patchy going up to Castle so turned around and went to 4th crossing, from which we could skin on continuous snow except across the Paradise River.  But the snow was going fast.  I don't think we could repeat our trip without skinning on a bare trail or (illegeally) on vegetation by this weekend. Here's the river crossing:
