Another one bites the dust......very sad.
Hate to see Lock shut the Tacoma stores doors, but Marmot Mtn. is still going strong.
Oh, remember Swallows Nest!

Yup. Sitting by the pot belly stove on a rainy winter day in the tiny Nest on Boat Street under I-5. Thanks Bill, Mike, and Clark. Louise's sewing is unmatched!Oh, remember Swallows Nest!

bought once used Karhu Dorado pattern base touring skis w/Rott 3 pin today for $90. Until Monday, only their rental/demo stuff is on special. Lots of leather and fleet level plastic boots, but not much in the T-2/T-1 type of stuff. Andrea told me today about a guy who came in a week or so ago - he'd been in to look/handle/get advise on BC pants and had subsequently bought some at backcountry.com, and came in to hopefully exchange them at this store as they didn't fit.. you do the math..
The cheap deal is on for their kayak demo fleet as well - If you're a kayaker, where are you going to get your stuff after they close? For now, it won't be Tacoma.. :'(

What!?, you can't do that at a big box store??

Yeah, my wife and and I did lots of business at Swallows Nest, then after it closed at Backpackers ... too bad they are both gone.

picked up some k2 hardsides with freeride pluses under 450 which seemed to have been unwrapped long enough to get a scratch on the top sheet. Also some well used crampons and an ice axe for 10$ and 20$, respectively.
There was a shortish pair of Bakers with freerides for around 350 on monday... others too, but that's what caught my eye.
