I second Second Ascent and Rab with Event. But I sure miss the big Napolean pockets on my old cloudveil. The ones on the Rab are not as big. If I know it's gonna be just windy but not wet I'll still take the cloudveil ductape and all. Rab's even at second Ascent are not inexpensive.

Definitely check out Second Ascent. I grabbed my First Ascent softshell Jacket used with nothing wrong with it (unlike REI's Gear Garage area) for quiet cheap.
When I go to only browse I always end up buying something though.

I have an arcteryx jacket. Love it, cost a fortune, very light and watertight. However it's very thin and not very warm and when skiing at the resorts I had to wear more clothing underneath than I like to stay warm. On top of that it was wearing out fast and getting oily drips from the lift cables wasn't helping. So I decided to save my arcteryx jacket for touring where weight was important and get something for day to day at the resort.
Did some research and a friend had bought some of the flylow pants. They looked well made.
The flylow jacket is bomber, like a waterproof softshell and warm enough that I only have to wear a mid-weight underneath in any conditions. It has huge pit zips for the hike up the King and two large side hand warmer type pockets, zipped. Inside are two mesh pockets suitable for skins or spare gloves etc. These are just great .There is a chest pocket, external, mesh on the inside
It is heavy and extremely robust. I have used it touring, but only in the winter. Too heavy for spring touring( well maybe not this year)
Never had a problem with it even it the worst PNW weather. An interesting alternative to the normal hardshells .
Here's a review
