Scotty, What about having a "First Tracks Breakfast Buffet", similar to what Whistler does?
Whisk you up the Gondola, have an early morning breakfast in the Summit Haus Restaurant and then getting first tracks in fresh powder for say an extra $20? $20 for the buffet of course.
I like what Whistler does and I hope it rubs off on Crystal. More amenities for a couple extra bucks. Well worth it to me. JMHO>
I actually suggested that once on this site when we were having a Crsytal discussion but got shot down pretty quick by the proloteriat on TAY. I was told it would be "elitist " and just for the "rich people".
I'm not a great proponent for that Bandit to be honest, not because of any elitist crap but I don't see how it would work that well at Crystal as the terrain isn't as extensive as Whistler and anything worth paying $20 for the first ski is going to have to wait until avy control done.
But again, democracy at work, if they offer it, people can vote with their wallets.

The TAY proletariat? I didn't know we had that kind of club.
I'll bet Crystal does the Breakfast Tracks thing at some point, once the gondola operation is going and synced up with control work, etc.

Here's a web definition. The TAY proletariat? I didn't know we had that kind of club.

Seems to have a fairly wide definition, interesting though.
proletariat
The lowest, or one among the lowest, economic and social classes in a society. In ancient Rome, the proletariat were poor landless freemen who, crowded out of the labour market by the extension of slavery, became parasites on the economy. Karl Marx used the term to refer to the class of wage earners engaged in industrial production only (the broader term working class included all those obliged to work for a living). Another of Marx's categories, the lumpenproletariat (lumpen meaning "rags"), comprised marginal and unemployable workers, paupers, beggars, and criminals. Marxian theory predicted a transitional phase between the abolition of capitalism and the establishment of communism during which a "dictatorship of the proletariat" would suppress resistance to the socialist revolution by the bourgeoisie, destroy the social relations of production underlying the class system, and create a new, classless society.

To be quite honest Scotty, I would pay the $20 for the Buffet Breakfast, enjoy the view, chit chat with the Ski Patrol, and get a first run in.
Being a Lift Op, and sometimes getting a "First Track" is memorable. I wouldn't consider it elitist to have a great early morning breakfast and mingle with the folks. It's all in the perception of the ski experience.
I guess my point is that if Crystal offers many different packages, then all can be happy. If one would want a bare bone experience or a full blown guided tour, it would all be up to the paying customer. Choice is good.
I don't think paying $20 for an early breakfast and getting a first run is elitist, I think it is just plain smart and fun.
What do I know. I'm just a Lift Op.

I think options are good Bandit and asssuming it could be synced with avy control to make it worthwhile as Marcus says, I'd support it. YOu are a damn fine ambassador for Crystal and I like hearing your opinion.
