"imagine what the paid commercial advertisers must think?"
Well I'm not going to pretend to speak for all of them but I'd imagine the progressive dudes down at Second Ascent would want an A) grassroots,
local and C) useful to the community snow report to continue if possible.
It's likely that at the moment sstrooper, who appears to be one guy with a camera trying to make a go of it, doesn't have the advertising budget of the brick and mortar retailers that support TAY. Would it make it fair enough if he agreed to drop a plug for a TAY sponsor at the end of each vid he link on TAY on a rotating basis? "Thanks to Second Ascent down in old Ballard for their support." Seems like a win (SS) win (advertisers) win (TAY) win (us).
At any rate there are ways and there are ways as my grandfather used to say. Citing the rules and slamming the door is just one of them.

Wow, Had a great shred down the Wonder Gully aka Bryant Coulior. It was way better than I had expected... The approach was easy w/ the ramp from lower Great Scott (it was loaded w/ snow which was a nice surprise). When at the col we decided to climb up the ridge towards Chair which was a mistake trying to go easy on my tweaked knee from Tuesday. The conditions on top where sun effected snow that formed an inch and a half of breakable crust.
On the "Mr Toads Adventure Ride" exit route I was told of the chatter on TAY... Funny I was thinking of TAY and my friend Marcus the entire climb up and this is what I came up w/ to say about Marcus - 1st he is the BOSS and Second if you are ever injured deep in the BC that would be the guy I would want showing up to save my ass. Thanks for donating your time for others!
Peace to all TAY sponsors, posters, rippers who think they are better than others, beginner skiers at Hyak, and FAT boys on Fat Boards like me!
Live Ski Another Day!
And I will be filming the Vert fest for Alpental to show at the Awards ceremony after the race,
So I hope to see you all there!

Wow Tim, nice job in Bryant gully! We again had great skiing 3500-4500' level, good fresh powder on Radio. Hope there's some way you can post your conditions report, suggest folks go to your website for visual details, just don't post a url? Would that be ok Marcus? We need this guy's daily info from on site!
Tough tightrope to walk, thanks for taking it on. And I second Tim's comment that if I am in trouble in the back, you and Anastasia would by the folks I would most like to see heading my way!

Just FYI, Tim and I spoke and, as Silas suggested, he's probably going to post his conditions updates, without the URL/video links. We'll see how that feels going forward. Thanks for the discussion y'all.

I'm confused. The Term of Use allude to a post "containing" an advertisement.
The posts, as I recall, linked to a video which contained commercial endorsements. The TAY posts themselves did not contain any advertising and the eternal link was not an ad or to a product sold by sstroopers.
Using the same logic under which the posts from sstroopers with video links were removed, any external link, say to a newspaper story or a ski area, or site such as Cascade Climbers, or even an informational video link to say "Black Diamond Climbing Skins Instructional Video - How to Install & Put On Climbing Skins," would be off limits because it leads to a site with advertising.
Yet, though these links contain ads, are they be considered advertisements? Even when they contain pertinent information?

If the person who's doing the posting is directly profiting from the advertising in the post (unlike a link you might post to Black Diamond), then yes, those would be considered advertisements and would be removed.
