Online HB2619 tracking
(<-- ain't open government cool?).
The cascadeclimbers thread now has a couple of replies from both the owner of the PLB rental outfit that's been associated with the bill and Portland Mountain Rescue.

Yes, online tracking is cool - and thanks for doing the legwork..- but it's only really cool when the postings (by 'them') are legit and up to speed. At your link I've found that the 'go to history' link doesn't work, the 'go to documents' link doesn't work, the bill is scheduled - according to the site- for a public hearing on Jan 26, but the link to 'committee materials' says nothing other than info is available at the door.. Same for the 29th with the scheduled hearing by Public Safety and Preparedness.
What I didn't like in Rep. Mary Roberts reply to Randy was the suggestion that if he hadn't written, they would still have 'caught' the foolishness of this proposal. I think it is inapproriate for a legislator to even hint at discouraging participation.
Edited to add: OK, the first two links were already displaying their contents on the page, ie., not much info there. Also have no idea of the real status of public hearing, etc. Comment re. rep. Roberts still stands..
