S7 or Billy Goat? was created by climberdave
While skiing at Mt. Hood Meadows over the weekend I demoed a pair or Rossignol S7'ens and LOVED them!  I'm a "a bad carpenter never blames his tools" kind of guy, but those things bumped my skiing up quite a few notches.  Charging down windblown double blacks full of sloppy seconds felt like butter, tight trees - no problem, hard pack/groomers - yep, happy there too.

So my question is:  Has anyone tried the Billy Goat's from the Portland company ON3P  and if so what did you think?  The dimensions are almost identical to the S7, but the build (camber placements, stiffness etc) can change the way a ski behaves (I'm preaching to the quire here  :D).  Anyway, I'm trying to keep $$ in the PNW and just thought I'd throw this out there and see what happens.

I ride the S7's and agree with you.
Contact Oftpiste, he knows the ON3P really well and can give you so more info. Never ridden the Billy Goat's.
S7's are so much fun

Check your PM's Dave. I say buy 'em. Scott's a cool guy making great skis and we need to keep people like him in business.

I saw a pair over the weekend and they looked great and the guy on them sounded like he was in love.

I suspect that even if you didn't like them you could sell them for very close to what you pay as they're quite in demand.

Appreciate your comment about keeping the $$ local when possible.  We vote for the life we want by how we handle the wallet..

Keep hearing about the S7's, and recently ON3P.  Just for AT or ok for tele, too?  Keep wanting to pull the trigger on a new buy, but the snowpack's got me bummed

I have one day on the Billy Goat's.   Thick heavy Alpental mank on Saturday.  The ski performed excellent.  Easy to turn, plenty of float.  Held an edge well on the hardpack.  Have not tried the S7, so cannot compare the two.  Nice to be able to support a local, made in the USA company.  Prices are very reasonable as well.  Not sure how far he is out on orders, but he is quick to answer emails. www.on3pskis.com
