I'm anxious to see Crystal in the film.
But not as anxious as I was to ski where they'd closed terrain for filming.

Corporate ski movies suck.
Far better to support a ski movie that supports skiing and skiers rather than just sees them as a target audience. They're far better movies too.
...Which is why I will expect to see you and co. in North Bend for "Signatures" on the 18th.

It might not be the 18th but I plan on attending at least one of your NB shows. I heard a rumor about Banff Mountain Film Festival? That'd be cool heh?. Be especially nice not to have to rope up and wear full length gaitors to the normal showing at The Mountaineers HQ.

Corporate ski movies are far better than the dreaded romantic comedy. I plan to take my wife, buy her some drinks and lay claim to her ticket vouchers.
Despite the dizzying presence of sponsorship, these film are made by skiers for skiers and have become an annual tradition for many of us. Scott Schmidt, Glen Plake, Mike Hatrup, neon and VHS is how I came up. WM movies come to my neighborhood when other films do not, they often feature our local ski areas alongside remote locals, and in recent years they have handed out granola bars.
Besides, isn't the pool big enough to accommodate many ski movies? Would the industry be what it is today with out Warren?
I doubt that it will be the must see ski flick of the season, but did somebody mention free lit tickets?
Just for the record my good friend.
Although we have all grown up with Mr. Miller and luv him, the company that produces the latest Warren Miller film has no longer any involvement with Mr. Miller. He sold the company to his son many years ago and then his son sold the company to a magazine conglomerate called Bonnier I think that publishes Ski magazine and about another 20 magazines with such diverse titles as Parenting and Motor Boating. The dreaded SKI ( not to be confused with SKiing) magazine is decidedly unTAY and is the one with all the ads for condos and usually has some breathless gushing article about " Debbie and Bill's 45,000 sf dream second home in Deer Park" that has been decorated in western kitsch and boasts about the fact that they can ski out the door to delight in the glorious corduroy that the staff have prepared for them overnight and the small dinner party they are looking forward too with grilled Peruvian rabbit stuffed with Mediterranean olives and a nice chianti.Pukkke :
The gossip is that he has fallen out with his son as a result and hates the direction WME is taking and that his name is still associated with it.
The Warren we love has no connection with WME other than he sold the rights to his name .
I met him once ( name dropper)when my company contributed to a skate board park he was trying to build.
He built a skate board park on Orcas Island I believe for the benefit of the local kids.
Very cool dude but make no mistake, the latest WME offering has no connection with Warren other than it is a ski movie.
Despite never missing a WME movie in the past I will be voting with my wallet this year and NOT going as the behavior of WME in trying to get an injunction to prevent the screening of the level1 film on the eve of it's showing was just too nasty even for my capitalistic values.
However, if you score any good swag I'll still expect you to share!
