May-June 2009: It's been a dry month!

Last saturday we got soaked to the bone coming down from hiking up Crystal Peak.Raining real hard at trailhead. Picked up the News about Quilled doggie and soaked skier at Wapiti Woolie.
As I was driving home from a job in Kirkland today the road was wet through Auburn. Don't think it was measurable though.

Not been dry here at Nisqually Entrance! Rain, hail, fog, and cottonwood-seed snowstorms.

It is somewhat ironic that I put off skiing at Baker( an hour or so from my house) due to non-stop forecasts of rain/showers/thunder storms while I was having to water my gardens non-stop due to lack of rain and hotter than normal temperatures. I wanted a bluebird day in the mountains with great views of the world below; I don't know if it going to happen this June.

Yeah, it's been a remarkable weather pattern. I haven't skied since the Dakobed traverse (I spent a lot of hall passes on that one). From Seattle on most days you would not guess there was bad weather in the mountains. All the bad weather in the mountains has been convection fed by the low parked over Oregon.
