As of sunday Paradise glacier was showing nothing. Could be a different story this weekend. The north end of the big picthbreak is usually what opens first at the connection to the cowlitz.8000' I believe.

that was the Washington Alpine Club out on the Nisqually on Saturday & Sunday...and it looked like they were having a great time.

(though I did not envy they had to walk around in calf-deep mush)

looks like they found plenty of good crevasses to play in just a few hundred vf up the glacier from the bottom of the nisqually chutes.

There was a high percentage of gaiters with duct-tape in the WAC legions, which suggests they are not to be underestimated.

Really though, they looked pretty organized, which is great to see for such a big group.

Stugie - glad the bridge stayed put for you. We skied that section roped, as a group of 5. We didn't like the 'S turn' snow bridges either. Sorting out the rope lengths and keeping the group properly spaced went well, so it was over pretty fast and added some variety.

Probably a good idea. Some of those bridges looked ready to go at any second. I was just trying to maintain speed through the awful snow. Good thing no one got hurt on those.
