Here is the website for Crystal. I have stayed in this lot overnight before. RV area people party some, and the heavy machinery traffic in the early morning can be a bit noisy at the other end of the lot. Park your car against the bank, opposite corner from the RV's and you'll find it quite nice. The folks in the RV's were regulars and can probably give you much inside information about the resort conditions.

Since we're possibly going up to crystal this weekend I'm bumping this thread.

So is there anywhere practical to pitch a tent there in lot B? Ya know somewhere you don't have to walk too far but still sheltered from the car traffic by trees or a berm?

Never having been to Crystal what about somewhere along the access road? any snow parks or other parking areas to dirt-bag it?

Also, anyone looking for ski partners this weekend? We'll probably ski the lifts one day and skin the other.

Thanks

If you like mud you could try, but I suspect tent pitching (of the camping kind anyway) is not allowed.

Buck Creek area is about two miles west of the base of CM Blvd. on 410. That puts you 8 miles from the parking lot.
Camping, outhouses, and I think its a no fee (at least its probably not monitored), and at a few thousand feet lower, would probably be much warmer in a tent. And you can sleep in.
I have never camped there in winter. Is there a weekend ski bum contingent that stays there?
