thanks for the input, I'd heard about the lower campsite but actually being warmer isn't a problem, with a down bag I'm usually sweating if it's too warm.
We'll probably check out the lot b options and maybe end up down the hill at the campground

I could be wrong but I'm under the impression that none of the campgrounds are open this time of year......

I'm not sure of its designation as a campground. If it is, its a federal CG, not a State Park. I've never seen it closed, and I've never paid to camp there. Summer before last I stayed there on a bike tour. Maybe its maintained by an ORV club. I know they use it alot in the summer.
