That's certainly a bad resolution, but I wonder if the explanation has anything to do with the current Salewa-owned distributorship coming into existence after that boot model had been discontinued?
I'm not trying to justify the bad resolution, but it sounds far different than what others have reported for customer service this past season.

I did send them in during the spring the same season I bought them. I got the boot back with nothing done in late November. By then my boots had been discontinued and all the new models were out so I guess that must have had something to do with it.
I have used their boots and binding for years. I still use my TLT 700's sometimes. But this boot was advertised to stiff and burly which it is far from at this point.
Because they refused to stand behind their boot (discontinued or not) I will not buy another boot made by them. I think I will just try and find a way the lock out the heal and use them on the lifts.

thanks everyone. Knowing it's one piece, I'm really not too worried, but I'll probably see what kind of hoops I'll have to jump through to get the shell replaced. If I have to send it away, I probably won't since these are my only AT boots, don't want to end my streak for something like this.
Jonathan, I'm not sure when it happened, nothing unusual. I have put a lot more miles on these in the dirt and rocks than I probably should have. I was actually suprised at how much the soles have worn down too, presumably from alot of walking. I'll be using hiking or running shoes more often now, starting next summer I hope.
