help, crack in dynafit boot

help, crack in dynafit boot was created by steve_f
Has anybody seen dynafit boots crack here? If so, what did you do about it?

Are the toe metal inserts one piece, or two pieces? If it's a long one piece molded in insert, I'm not too worried, but if they are separate, it could be a problem depending on how substantial the features that keep them in are.

Any thoughts appreciated. Oh yeah, they are '07/'08 z-zeros.

The toepiece is one long piece, not two separate dimples. Go to Lou Dawspn's Dynafit page ( www.wildsnow.com/articles/dynafit_faq/dynafit_faq1.html ) amd scroll about half way down. You'll see a picture of the molding. Although I've never had experience with a failure of this type, knowing that it is one piece wouldn't get me too worried either.

I haven't seen or experienced that before. But I'd say that would be a warranty issue. I've had good service from dynafit on warranty issues so far. Give them a call...

Yes, it's one piece, but yes, I'd still be worried.
I suggested contacting Dynafit ASAP (and they should send you new shells ASAP).
Just curious: any particular circumstances that might have led to this crack?

I had a problem w/a Dynafit boot last year. They had 1/2 a season on them. The walk/ski lockout broke. I sent the boots in and did not get it back for 7 months with nothing done. Dynafit USA basically told me too bad not our problem. After many phone calls they sent me a replacement part for the boot but was the wrong part. I called again and was told that "that's all we are going to do for you" I ended up just buying another brand of boots.

The shop I got the boots from and another shop got nowhere with Dynafit USA either.

I think Dynafit is a great product but since Dynafit USA started up last year the customer service is lacking. I just regret I spent $600+ for a pair of boots I got 1/2 a season out of.
