TAY Calendar - 2009 Photo Contest

Merry Christmas everybody. I got my TAY calendar in the mail today. Not bad for a Cafepress item. If you haven't ordered one yet, the photos came out very nicely. I underestimated the amount lost on the edges from bleed, but nothing was really lost on any shots.

The pictures came out so nicely I'm thinking of reducing the minimum resolution for the next year's calendar. I'm curious what resolution cameras most of you take into the backcountry -- where do you think the line should be drawn for image size?

After a number of discussions with various people, I've extended the deadline for each month (except November) to the 20th of the following month, meaning that you have until January 20th to submit photos for December 2008. Having said that, it's time to submit December 2008 photos to december@hedgie.com. It's been a pretty tough month for snow; I know I didn't get many good photos last month, so please submit what you've got!

I understand that December was a really bad month for backcountry skiing, but I haven't seen any submissions for December 2008 photos. Has the enthusiasm for photo calendars died, or does nobody have any images worth submitting? (Or has my e-mail server died?)

If anyone wants this project to continue, please send some photos from lasst month to december@hedgie.com ASAP, otherwise I'll cancel it for lack of interest.

I don't have any good pics from December/08, but I would like to see the project continue in 2009.

Another call for submissions -- I've been quiet, tooling around in New England this month, but with five days left I've gotten six submissions from three people for January. I know the weather's been crappy, but send in what you've got!
