Alas,

I'm going to be a false promise on this outing. I didn't finish the tasks I intended for today and need to install a new starter into my car tomorrow. It seems paramount since I can't get to future beacon practice or ski outings without being able to turn over the engine. Sorry for flaking, and I hope you all have fun.

Jill and I found a secret stash and worked the terrain with our beacons.  Thanks for the great idea.  These are desperate times. ;)

Secret stash of leaves? Or are you eluding to the good stuff!!??

Many a beacon was rescued today at Wright Park. Holly, hobbling on crutches (the result of a bouldering accident), Kyle, Stugie and I saved beacons unlucky enough to be caught in the (leaf) fall line.

We're ready. Let's have some snow.

Thanks for the great suggestion Joe!
We had a really good session of beacon searching--be wary of the slopes at Wright park, highly avalanche prone!  But, comedy aside, it was really beneficial to spend so much time repeatedly searching and get to understand the arc patterns of our beacons and reacquaint ourselves with that one piece of equipment we are always trying to avoid but need to be sharp on.  This exercise is definitely worth a repeat. Not to mention, it was great to meet fellow TAYers beyond the world of Goretex and goggles.
Looking forward to snow season! Warren Miller raffle was very good to me tonight and I'm incredibly stoked . . . you'll be hearing from me Keith and Kyle!  ;D

Sounds like someone got a free season pass to Crystal?

Good times, thanks everyone who wanted to do SOMETHING in this time of inner turmoil - trying to occupy my freetime with anything to keep me from going crazy due to lack of snow. Keith, thanks, Kyle and I had some entertainment for the afternoon. Good stuff! ;) Maybe next week we can count on some coverage to actually plan on some turns...
