Gelandesprung = open field jump from crotched position.(think of the famous Jarvis AIR pc)
All 3 types of bindings that we have been talking about are all capable of Gelandesprung. Hucking cliffs which I don't do require the heavier Fritchis ,Dukes or std Downhill bindings welded shut!

But back on topic I would suggest to Ilean the Fritchis free rides.

Thank you so much for all of your input, it has been very informative and entertaining! My old Fritchi Diamirs are very heavy for carry's, but I do like the ease of step-in and the burlyness of them. Maybe the Fritchi freerides are lighter? I did "gerlandersprung" once, which transitioned into a simultaneous double clicker out, and into a full fledged superman, resulting into a perfect concave sculpture of myself. Poetry in motion!

If you're riding with a quiver of 1 pair of skis, then I think the Fritchis make sense, especially if you've used them before. You'll trust them and you'll be able to quick transitions. But if you can afford two sets of rigs, then I think its worth trying the Dynafits They're so damn light and despite their quirks they have a pretty good record.

Hey, its lookin' dark outside. Shouldn't be too long now....
