no pollen? was created by Jim Oker
Remember a few seasons back when there was a long thread on pollen and we all had thick glop on our skis that could make descending a 20 degree slope a challenge for a few weeks in June? I've had zero pollen attack this season, despite a fair bit of time down in the treed zone. Did it all get swallowed in the late snowfall? Interesting how variable it is from year-to-year...

That was last year, when it was so bad... Joe and I were talking about it this weekend. The snow was a little dirty and grabby, but nothing like last year. The mysteries of nature, eh?

My bases got totally sludged at Alpy on Sunday (June 29th). Thick black tar!

Interesting - the pollen hadn't attacked yet up at/above Windy Pass by Silver Peak, just a few miles from you. So perhaps the pollen is indeed just a tad late and is working its way upwards...

I came down some of the steeper lines in the east bowl on the north side of silver last year around this time and had to stop and scrape pollen off. I was really bad last year. Maybe its melting out at a slower pace instead of all at once...fooling the firs higher up that its still spring.
