That was last year, when it was so bad... Joe and I were talking about it this weekend. The snow was a little dirty and grabby, but nothing like last year. The mysteries of nature, eh?
I have had similar conversations about the lack of pollen this spring. One theory advanced during the discussion was that the new snow a few weeks ago buried some of the surface pollen.
I spent some coin and hot-waxed with Hertel Spring Solution (which Hertel claims to provide ample glide in pollen-fouled snow conditions) but the wax has not yet been put to the test. Will advise on that product if and when pollen becomes a problem this season.
