How long have they been the same? Has the glue formula changed in recent years? Perhaps I'm misremembering the model... I'll check. Regardless, I think the form of attachment is probably more important than the glue type.

The current GlideLite STS skins are exactly the same as the current Ascension STS skins except for the backing (and the color), so glue longevity should be exactly the same.

GlideLites have gone through three iterations:
1. The original from Skye Alpine (i.e., Ted Ayliffe).
2. Starting in fall 02, BD's version after it took over Skye Alpine, which still had the same colors, but sold them with a regular bag (instead of that strap to hold together the skins when not skinning). I can't recall exactly what other changes were introduced when BD bought them. I suspect that BD might have started using the same glue then as on its Ascensions, but that's just a suspicion.
3. The current version, which I think is in its 3rd season. (I could verify by looking at the old ski mag collection if anyone cares.) Like the original, it retains the STS attachment system (which then became available on Ascensions too, in addition to ClipFix) and a more supple backing, but the plush and glue are the same as on Ascensions.
