New ways of doing Trip Reports? was created by Michael
Check out this cool 3D map tool the Virtual Earth folks just released! I played with this a bit and within minutes created a video on the climb up Little Tahoma we did back in May.
Here is the video I created. A pretty cool way for doing trip reports!

That's cool. Amazing how accurate the VE simulation is.

A great tool to add an overall perspective to a trip along with specific moments captured with photos. A creative implementation of Virtual Earth. Very nice.

Your demo prompted me to download the Virtual Earth 3D beta. But to use it, Microsoft wants me to create a Passport ID and an MSN account and who knows what else (I bailed at that point). Typical heavy-handed Microsoft marketing. I'm sticking with Google Earth for now.

Hey Lowell, you should not have to create a Passport account for using the VE 3D stuff (which does require a download).
It's only when you upload something that you need a passport account (no MSN account is needed either). (this is pretty typical - Google asked me for an account to upload the video
)
Anyhow, I highly recommend going over that hump and trying this out as I am sure you will have a lot of fun playing with this...I was very impressed by it.
