This season I've found that buying some Dynafit bindings has miraculously resolved all my telemark binding noise issues, imagine that...

Yesterday, we skied out along the Wenatchee Ridge Road west from Swauk Pass on Hwy. 97. Since I was putting MaxiGlide on the 'ole Alpina Cross Terrains I put some MaxiGlide on the Excursion's duckbill. That solved the terrible squeak and frequent reapplication was not required. In addition, it also allowed the Excursion's duckbill to go further into the BD Riva 2 binding making the cable not so tight. It was too tight before and used to snap down with too much force. 2 problems solved with 1 solution and I don't have to hunt down and buy a longer cable!
BTW, yesterday the snow was terrible up on the Wenatchee Ridge Road west of Swauk Pass, a semi-breakable crust of ice granules and just ice. However, there was one small patch of soft ice granules in the shade about 4 inches deep just big enough to link about 4 turns. This small patch of "snow" was about 2 miles in. The south-facing slopes in sun never did corn up. They were even worse with a icy crust. But, Oh Wow!! the view of Mt Stuart and the Enchantments, Adams, Rainier and many other mountains.
