Could we have a Canadian version, with several colours, that I could wear in my neighbourhood? Just kidding, I would like to have anything with turns-all-year on it.. A climbing skier design would probably please 2 out of 3 camps in the TAY world.

Charles:
one of the reasons i suggested zazzle.com was my cousin Kam and i ordered a couple shirts from them. we used the company to make a proto-run of shirts for SkiBuilders.com, for example this shirt...
the shirts are nice, not the cheap thin-feeling t-shirts that normally come in a package of three at Target, but nice cotton ones. the graphics seem to hold up well too. we simply submitted our design in high-res JPG format and they turned out as expected.
my only complaint is the cost for each shirt is a bit steep ($25), but TAY will get over $2 for every shirt sold. since i'm committed to TAY, i would gladly spend the $$ to have a shirt, or three...
i'm sure there are other online companies that do the same as zazzle.com and maybe cheaper...

Kam, thanks for the additional info. I didn't realize that you had used the zazzle service (nice shirt!). One question for you, Kam: when you got your shirts from zazzle, did you get the "basic t-shirt"?
I see a lot of advantages of the zazzle approach over the traditional big batch silk screen approach. With zazzle many designs can be offered at no extra cost, people can choose from a variety of shirt styles and colors, we can choose to let people customize the shirts, and we can make other products available as well (mugs, anyone?). Unfortunately I don't see that caps are available, and there does not seem to be a 100% synthetic shirt available. With the shipping charge, one shirt is a bit expensive (~$21 for "basic t-shirt"), but with additional shirts (can be different designs) the per shirt cost goes down with a small discount and also due to small increases in shipping (eg, 2 shirts give ~$18/shirt, and 5 shirts give ~$16/shirt).
I went ahead and set up a TAY account with zazzle. In order for purchases to give maximum benefit to TAY (17% of base price - excluding shipping), people would need to follow a link from TAY website to the zazzle listings of TAY shirts. With great foresight, I already had made some vector graphics of snowboarder and skier (tele skier; sorry no AT yet), and I have created three variations for t-shirts using these graphics. I will see if I can get links created today.
Another advantage of zazzle is that other TAYers who get inspired can create their own designs and we can make them available in the TAY section of zazzle. In order for the purchase of these shirts to benefit TAY, people would need to send me the graphics so that I could upload to TAY account at zazzle.
I will attach an example of one of the variations that I made, "as seen on zazzle".
What does everyone think about this zazzle approach? "Sounds good and let's proceed", or "whoa, not so fast..."?

Sounds like zazzle would be a pretty good route to go. Lots of us already know one another, so I imagine it would be fairly easy to get groups of folks to place their own batch orders and keep shipping costs minimized.
Perhaps another company needs to be found to handle hat orders, since I imagine that any baseball cap design would be done with stitching rather than whatever printing technology is used for t-shirts.
I'm still monkeying with a design...I'll try to get something posted this weekend.
