Where to find nexpensive lodging near the skiing?

I don't know of much in the way of hotels, condos, or slope side, but I had a pretty sweet arrangement when I lived in CO Springs.

We rented a house outside of Breck (just south) for the season. We had about 10 people from work in on it, and we were up there every weekend. It turned out to be $20 per weekend for lodging! We kept it reasonable by charging a small fee for any guests (non-rent-paying peeps) that wanted to stay for a night, just to offset utilities. The bonus is the obvious, close crash quarters near the slopes of Breck, Keystone and A-basin. The cons are the commitment to that locale, and the number of weekends and paying partners needed to amortize it to $7/night. It might not be right for her, but it could be an option. Check classifieds.summitdaily.com/index.php in the fall for seasonal rentals.

Also, I still have some very good friends that do this in Winter Park. If she gets a pass up there send me a PM and perhaps I can arrange some introductions.
