Mt Baker spring glacier trip? was created by pdr88s
Anyone have input on when is the best time to catch some turns on the glaciers on the south side of Baker above Schreiber Meadows. I am wanting to get up there after everthing settles down and before the snow gets too sun-cuppy. I am guessing May? Park Bute looks like an option. Any ideas? ???

June is good. This year July will be good.

The skiing's good in May and June, but there will be snowmobiles up there until at least mid-June. I'd recommend avoiding the weekend until they're done for the year.

markharf, can you summarize which routes are open to snowbiles? Is the CD route free of bilers always? Thanks

CD is not open to bilers. The sno-mo recreation area is basically a pie shaped section of the mountain's south side emcompassing most of the Easton and Squak Glaciers and ending in a point at the crater rim. At least that's how I understand it...
