Does anyone have any information on the lovely, and classic sheild-volcanic peak? I'll be there in July and I'm looking for any tips. If there is any snow, you can bet I'll try to ski it.

Thanks,
Jessica

I was there in 2001 and there was very little snow, mainly snow fields of a few hundred yards. I wouldn't count on much skiing there in July.... sorry !

July 1 is the "opening day" of climbing season for Mt Fuji and most likely there will be a line of people age 8 to 80 climbing through the night for the traditional sunrise summit. The climb is long and be careful with the altitude, I did a roundtrip from Yokohama (sea level) to the summit (12,388ft) and back in 24 hours and had one heck of a headache on the summit. 5 train transfers and a bus ride, The transit system is just unreal! We started at 10 pm the night before and the line of headlamps alone was astounding!
Shespiste,
sorry no snow on Fujisama in july. might be some in the Couloirs of the North japanese Alps (Honshu). if committed to skiing you might try Japanese friends of mine for advice www.ml-powder.com/
