I believe Mt. Fuji is a stato volcano

I will go there on a bus from Shinjuku on Apr 29. Bus stops on 5th stage and then I have 6 hours before the last bus to go some way up and ride down.
Do you think, I will need snowshoes? Icepick? any other equipment. It sucks, because I only brought my board to Japan. So I will have to buy another set of snowshoes just for this hike... Unless there is place, where I can rent it.
