Tele Daddy: Mounting Position? was created by The_Snow_Troll
OK, I like many others recented purchased Tele-Daddy's from Sierra Trading Post.... any comments on mounting at the center vs. back 1 or 2cm's?

I have never paid much attention to this and have always just gone standard (cord center)...but it's a won't be my only ride so I can experiment a little... As it stands now the shop is going to mount them 1cm back...Thoughts?

Me: 5'10", 172lbs, 27.5 boot
Ski: 173 Tele Daddy
Where: PNW BC and some lifts, no park etc.

Why mount toward the tail? I'd suggest pin line at effective chord center. See:

I mounted mine AT with my boot center on the Atomic boot center mark and they seem to work fine . . .

I'm about the same height/weight as you -- I've got 7tms mounted 1 cm forward of cc. Feel pretty good to me, though I've only been on them a few times. They've got so much up front that tip-dive hasn't been a problem...

You'll love them -- they chew through all kinds of crappy snow. Though I'm having to relearn hardpack and ice skiing...

Marcus

Thanks for the searches Zenom...I did my searches there with Tele Daddy as two words and got nothing....damn spelling error.

Marcus: Did you measure CC or go 1cm foreward of the marked 'balance point' on the top sheet?

I just had the shop do a rough measure of cord center (of running surface) and it is actually behind what is labeled as the 'balance point' on the top sheet but still in the balance area.

I'm going with CC of the running surface. Of course I'm going to try to convince my ski buddy with the same set up to do something different so we can compare

I did 1 cm forward of the "balance point" -- definitely still within the "balance area". Good thing -- wouldn't want to be unbalanced...
