Looks like a good one.
Looks like you've got the bail in backwards tho..
Ron I think that is the new tip loop by BD. They have a double bar design, but I thought the new one was smoke colored.
Very nice job on your skin solution Mr. Grommet!

Right you are, Joe:

Dang, I hate that; every time I figure I'm starting to get things figured out I discover I'm not near as smart as I thought I was. This will improve with age, right? ;)

You'll be OK ole Boy! ;)
Your as dumb as a fox.
I like the old steel tip loop like you do.
But it is probably inconvenient overall for the newer tip caps that are on skis these days. And I know they had some problems with them seperating at the tack weld, if thats how they joined to complete the loop.

Ron, Joe

Yes, the bail in the pic has two bars (kinda like t-mobile on a good day). I agree with Ron and liked my first pair of skins that had the solid bail, which seemed to drop effortlessly into position and not have a tendency to get stretched and crooked on the ski tip.

The grommeted skins worked just fine on yesterdays tour to Camp Muir.

Thanks everyone for the help!

That is exactly how I do it. Looks good, those will be bomber ... and now you can go grommetting all sorts of fun things out there.

Has anyone tried to use grommets to attach the tail hook? I hate those stupid little slots and goofy rivets. It seems like one big fat grommet through the rubber or nylon would be much stronger anyway; any thoughts?
