Strategies for September (and October?) was created by Jeff Huber
What are folks planning on doing for September? I've been thinking about getting out next weekend just to be done with it. Alternatively one could wait and hope that it snows, but if it doesn't and stays hot all month you'd be better off skiing the first weekend.

I noticed the last day of September is Friday. An interesting option would be to hike up a slope the last Friday night. Start your descent at 11:58PM, then finish a few minutes later Saturday morning. Thus you'd get both Sept and Oct in one run.

Or else they don't have one to gloat about. ;)
Unless we get some early season snow, our gang is going to do the same sufferfest we did in August ???
But this time we'll add an extracurricular activity or two and maybe a tailgate party to add to the fun. 8)
"Party on, Garth" ;D

Speaking of secret stashes, I can't believe how large of a snow patch/possibly small glacier I saw yesterday right in the middle fork sno area. Anyone know what mt I was looking at? I was on top of Bare Mt (can't wait to ski that in the spring) looking south. I talked to a rainger who narrowed down to Treen, Garfield or Big Snow Mt. He said Treen likely, but I'm wondering if it was Big Snow Mt. The patch is atleast 200 yards long and almost as wide. I wish I knew how to get there a month ago! It's a north facing aspect/bowl. I will not rest until I find it, but I may have to go to work.

Yep, otherwise I'd love a dump or two to improve Muir.
