Another quiet Friday on the slopes.
Big Sun still shone bright on chalk.

Snoqualmonix was an icebox today. After enduring a frigid lap down Debbie's and nearly getting tossed off the padded seats by the breeze we retreated to the lower reaches across the highway. Went from West -> East over the course of 3 hours and skied everything from chalk to windbuff to ice to chunky. Best snow found in the mellow trees @ East (altho the upper reaches of l'Internationale sure were sweet). 3 layers on top, 3 layers on bottom, balaclava, neck gaiter, gloves & liners kept everything comfy except my feet.
Headed back up in the morning, despite the pass report indicating current conditions are freezing rain. Everyone should probably stay away

Report indicated the gates were closed so we didn't bother with the padded seats today, opting to lap mellow angled slopes and trees at East instead. Took a few powerline laps now that the Central - East crossovers are open and the turns were okay... nothing really to write home about except it started nuking hard right around 230. Skied til closing bell and hit the highway - was surprised at how few cars were on the highway considering how busy Silver Fir was today.

Par for the course today - roughly 10" new on top with a friendly bottom beneath it until approx. the elevation of the Snake Dance gate. Reasonably-sized crowd, dumped all morning before clearing up around 11, right as the sun came out the safety coordinators opened-up Snake Dance, Elevator followed the next lap and the only disappointment was not being able to stay all day. Definitely a scratchy surface lurking beneath the relatively "blower" new - I don't expect things to stay great much beyond Wednesday. Rocks already poking through most of the entrances to Nash, thankfully it looks like there's some Alpenspackle on the way.
