Wow what a bunch of whiners. I skied yesterday and it wasn't great, but they were open and I didn't hit any rocks. Everyone i skied with had a good time. Did someone really complain that they were open for night skiing? I think it's awesome they are opening up as much as they can and trying to offer night skiing. Yeah, maybe we have been spoiled by too many good seasons. Personally I am just damn happy that they are running the lifts and we have snow on the ground.
Dude, thanks for saying what I was thinking but didn't have the balls to for fear of sounding like an internet dick without the context of good-natured banter you can have in person. Is it a Seattle thing, or more of a national epidemic, that we have to find something to bitch about in every area of life, even our recreation?
After already spending a few dozen days hiking for turns around the snoq valley, I'm damn happy to get the "free" ride up the hill to make turns in the mountains with my pals (not to mention no new additions to this season's two core-shots)! The last six days, though certainly there have been some moments of level II fun, have been a delightful reminder about what's important in life!
Then again.....I take it all back....you're right, skiing's horrible up there! To hell with Snoqualmie Pass, Alpental, Summit West, Silver Peak, et. al!

ETA - "is it worth it" takes on a whole new meaning when you have a toddler and pregnant wife at home. I'd be up there skiing the rocks and brush if skiing conditions were the only factor in deciding the worthiness of a trip to the pass...

Great point of context, the love of family is certainly a beautiful and worthwhile pursuit. I can only imagine how my fever for mountains and skiing would be reduced if I had a little butt-headed version of me at home (which is why I don't
