Soooo much fun at Alpy on Sunday, we were glowing all day (for one reason or another). It was definitely quality over quantity, you had to be patient in line with the snowball insanity. Beers helped
BTW, I think lot 4 was FULL by 915am (we got there at 8am). Friends had to park at West and wait 45 minutes for a shuttle to get over. I'm guessing that it may have been a record breaking day for attendance. Granted, some may not have even put on ski/snowboard boots and were there just to party
Nash/Adrenaline/Felsen/Snake Dance were all superb. They actually closed down the cat track on Chair 1 for half the day due to Shot 6 slide potential. Backcountry gates never opened for good reason.
Cheers!
Edit: For the record, we left no trace in lot 4. We always clean up after ourselves!

That cleanup crew was Eric and Anna, easily two of the best under-18 skiers up there. Glad to see someone taking care of the place. I've hiked up under the lift in July and it ain't pretty!
All-in-all, a top notch Cinco de Mayo at Alpy. The only major bummer was getting in line for Chair Two at 3:35, making it onto the loading ramp next to the lift shack, and having a Summit manager stop the lift at 4:00 sharp and tell us, the two people in front of us waiting to sit down on the empty chair coming around the bullwheel, and the 100 or so people in line behind us "Thanks for coming! Time to go home!" Sent us all packin'! Pretty lame, in my opinion.
Snoholic: You don't get to claim full points if the resort is closed! I took home 1,000pts for a BN run down Nash at 2:30.

Probably not any more record-breaking than closing day in seasons past. We got a spot in Lot 4 against the snow wall pretty close to the front at 8:15. By 9 things were getting tight and by 9:30 they were turning folks around at the bridge. Lift lines were wild, beverages were a necessity and sombreros made excellent shields against the barrage of snowballs. Got in line for our last lap up ch2 around 3:25, made it without issue and were over the Fan before patrol sent everyone packing.
Looks like the booter from Saturday's comp will be around for some time - could make for an interesting end to the annual solstice tour

Fare enough. Saw you and Miss Wachusett going for points right from the start on chair 2. Fine work. We got lucky and were 4 chairs in from the 4 sharp cuttoff. Fheww.

Nope, wasn't me. I was skiing with a guy who was on snowlerblades, wearing a wetsuit. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one racking up points. Gnar has officially reached Alpental.
